Biography

Dr. Lisa Nyberg is a transplant hepatologist and gastroenterologist at the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center. She has specialized in liver diseases and liver transplantation there for more than 25 years. In her role, she established an active hepatology research unit that provides highly advanced therapies and treatments for patients.

Dr. Nyberg serves on the medical advisory committee of the San Diego chapter of the American Liver Foundation. Her research has been published in numerous publications in the field of hepatology. Her current research focuses on epidemiological studies, including studies of the natural history of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and cost-effectiveness of the treatment of chronic hepatitis C.
