Biography

Dr. Kevin Yu is a health informaticist, epidemiologist, and postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Research & Evaluation. His research focuses on employing pharmacoepidemiology for evaluating cardiovascular and dementia outcomes, with an emphasis on identifying optimal treatments for diverse patient populations using large-scale, real-world data and advanced causal inference and machine learning techniques.

Dr. Yu completed his doctoral work at Northwestern University, where he developed personalized hypertension treatment strategies by emulating randomized comparative effectiveness trials for antihypertensive medications in electronic health records data. He also has extensive experience in building longitudinal risk prediction models for studying cardiovascular disease and dementia using machine learning and time-series approaches.
