Biography
Dr. Kimberly Ferrante is an obstetrics-gynecology physician in the urogynecology division at the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center. She began her 2-year appointment in the Southern California Permanente Medical Group Clinical Investigator Program in 2019.
Dr. Ferrante has been actively involved in research since her undergraduate studies in neuroscience. She served as a clinical research coordinator in the area of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and Huntington’s disease. Her interests then shifted to women’s health, and she has dedicated her career to research of pelvic floor disorders, urinary tract infection prevention, and surgical outcomes data.
Dr. Ferrante is also deeply involved in mentoring physicians in training, first as a director of the residency training research program at New York University, and now as mentor to fellows in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive surgery in the University of California, San Diego−Kaiser Permanente combined program.
