Research Interests

Dr. Whitcomb’s research interests range from studying the effect of obesity on the pelvic floor to epidemiologic inquiries and retrospective analyses aimed at better understanding outcomes after interventions for pelvic floor disorders within Kaiser Permanente Southern California.

Dr. Whitcomb participates in the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) Quality Improvement and Outcomes Research Network, a multi-center research network focused on developing, implementing, and publishing quality outcomes research data. Her participation has informed retrospective analyses within Kaiser Permanente Southern California aimed at better understanding the impact of proposed quality measures on outcomes after surgical intervention for pelvic organ prolapse.
