Research Interests

Dr. Bruxvoort is an epidemiologist with a background in infectious diseases and global health. She aspires to research that leads to change in health policy and patient care. Before coming to Kaiser Permanente, she spent 10 years researching malaria diagnostics and treatment with London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She led large-scale evaluations and randomized trials of interventions to improve malaria case management. Her doctoral work focused on medication adherence, specifically novel methods to promote and measure adherence to artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT).

Dr. Bruxvoort’s current research interests include maternal health, vaccine-preventable diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and improving the health of underserved populations.
