About Clinical Trials

Clinical Trials Division

Kaiser Permanente is the world’s largest integrated clinical research organization. We combine the clinical expertise of one of the largest medical groups with a research organization.

In Southern California, over 6,600 physicians take care of almost 4.4 million patients. With this resource, Southern California Permanente Clinical Trials Division is capable of conducting any clinical research project, from the smallest pilot studies to drug trials to outcomes and quality of life analyses. Our experience stretches from Phase II to Phase IV and beyond, encompassing post-marketing analyses.

Clinical Trials Division conducts studies in multiple and diverse therapeutic areas. Our investigators are all practicing physicians to these specialties, applying state-of-the-art research in their own practices. Their informed input on study design and interpretation creates more efficient, practical, and pertinent research.

Clinical Trials Division supports clinical trials research conducted at Kaiser Permanente Southern California in collaboration with industry, government agencies, and academic institutions.

Clinician Investigators

Our clinician investigators are dedicated practicing physicians from diverse therapeutic areas and sub-specialties. Clinical Trials Division supports investigators as they conduct research, providing guidance on compliance with federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies and procedures.

Our Completed Projects

Clinical Trials Division has completed numerous clinical trials. These have been funded by government, industry, and foundations, and have encompassed not only most therapeutic areas but also the areas of health policy, economics, statistics, and quality of life.
