Biography

Dr. Ahmed Dehal is a board-certified general surgeon with a second board certification in complex surgical oncology. He is an associate professor in Clinical Science at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine and vice chair of Research at Panorama City Medical Center. Dr. Dehal has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as multiple book chapters and has reviewed manuscripts for multiple national and international journals.

Dr. Dehal has extensive experience working with the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program, the National Cancer Database, and the National Cancer Institute’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results databases as well as Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect. He has a broad interest in all aspects of gastrointestinal oncologic surgery. Dr. Dehal is particularly interested in how neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgical management can be used to treat patients with gastric cancer.
